Billengin Beef
Quite, quality Angus cattle

About Us
Dedicated to producing quiet, high quality Angus cattle.
'Billengin' is a 1000 acre family farm that owned and operated by the Keyworth family in the beautiful Biala district of the Southern Tablelands of NSW. The farm is located on the Lachlan River near Gunning and is about a 60 minute drive from Canberra.
We bought the initial 350 acres of the farm in 1999 and have since added a further 650 acres of adjoining land when neighbor's retired.
For the first 20 years the farm was run on a part-time basis as both Lynn and Scott Keyworth had full-time jobs in Canberra.
Over that past 24 years we have built a high performing Angus herd, now running 150 commercial Angus cows producing 300kg steer calves for the backgrounder market. The calves are born in autumn and are sold in December often topping the local sales to repeat buyers.
We run an AI program every second year to produce bulls from our elite cows for ourselves and other local producers.Â
We have been selectively breeding our cows over the last 24 years for calving ease, docility, intramuscular fat, mothering ability and productivity.Â
All our cattle are grass fed and growth promoting hormone free. We practice regenerative agriculture are actively involved in the local land services. We have two box gum woodland reserves on the property that have been set aside for local wildlife including suburb parrots.
